| Description: | Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall scope of the telecommunication infrastructure, including dial plan, system design and maintenance. Manage communications equipment and services, as well as perform upgrades/installations of infrastructure equipment. Design, plan and maintain telecommunication infrastructure. Focus on a primary communications function and provide support for other communications functions.
Education and Prerequisites Required
•College Diploma or university degree in the field of computer sciences or related field and/or relevant work experience
Licenses and Certifications Required
•CCNA and/or CCNA Voice preferred.
Experience Required
•At least two years experience with Cisco voice protocols and Call Manager/Unity Applications. Experience with Cisco products and solutions such as, but not limited to routers, switches, firewalls and analog voice gateways.
Requirements
•Good knowledge of telecommunications networks (ISDN, POTS), including, as well as requirement gathering, design, configuration, implementation, support & monitoring and troubleshooting.
•Good knowledge of telecommunications protocols, including: TDM, VoIP, MGCP, SCCP, SIP and H.323
•Good knowledge of at least two of the following:
oVoIP Phone Systems, including: requirement gathering, design, configuration, implementation, support & monitoring and troubleshooting.
Cisco CallManager
oVoicemail systems, including: configuration, implementation, support & monitoring and troubleshooting. Ability to design and build voicemail menus and mailboxes.
Cisco Unity Connections
oAutomatic Call Distribution systems, including: configuration, implementation, support & monitoring and troubleshooting. Ability to design and build queues, install agents and supervisors, as well as provide training to end users.
Cisco UCCX
oAudio, Web and Video Conferencing Systems, including: configuration, implementation, support & monitoring and troubleshooting.
Cisco MeetingPlace
•Basic understanding of the following technologies:
oRouting and switching, including configuration, implementation and troubleshooting. Must be familiar with Cisco IOS for voice gateways.
oWLANS and VoWLANs.
oBlackBerry Enterprise Servers, including configuration and troubleshooting.
oCell Phone, Smartphone and Wireless Data Cards.
oPagers and Paging Systems.
oData networks, including MPLS, leased line, frame relay, ATM, DSL and VPN.
oStructured cabling infrastructure, including design and planning.
oWindows and Linux servers
•Knowledge of provisioning and troubleshooting voice and data networks.
•Vendor management, including issue resolution, billing and trouble tickets.
•Able to manage multiple projects of various sizes.
•Able to provide desktop support in order to resolve troubles.
•Experience in the design, development, and overseeing the implementation of hardware solutions, systems, or products.
•Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
•Ability to read and interpret technical documents and procedure manuals.
